Private Music Lessons

As a music teacher and singer/songwriter, sharing the love for music has been my passion for over 40 years.

As a music teacher, my areas of expertise are piano, folk guitar, and voice. I have worn many musical hats - other instruments I have taught are recorder, dulcimer and ukelele. I am an Orff-certified teacher and have taught many years of pre-school music.

As a composer who enjoys show-casing my own choral compositions, I have organized and directed many choirs over the years. I love to help composers create choral arrangements of their original songs.

I also enjoy helping students write their own songs (start from scratch or arrange a song you've already notated but can't figure out the proper chord progressions to).

Musical instrument teaching and helping the budding singer-songwriters follow their bliss are my loves and my strongest talents. With patience and joy, loving the process, I help others to do the same!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Music lessons are given once a week and payment is due at the first lesson of the month for the upcoming month.

If lessons need to be cancelled, I ask 24 hours notice. If the student doesn’t show, and no notice has been given, I will charge for that lesson.

My rates are as follows:
Half hour lesson:   $ 30.00
45 minute lesson: $ 35.00
One hour lesson:  $ 40.00

I have 2 recitals during my teaching year: one at Christmas time and one at the end of the spring.

We ‘take our show on the road’ and go perform for the senior citizens at a local nursing home where I volunteer, singing there once a month. (This is a joy for the seniors and good experience in extending loving charity from my students to those in need of cheer and fellowship.)

For students wanting to hone their performance skills, I take them to the Senior Home periodically, to play their pieces for a receptive audience.
